Case Study
Case Study: New Composite Deck in Bristol
How we did it:
We began with a clean slate, because the customer himself had removed all the old decayed boards from the old wooden deck, leaving the original subframe (as shown in the image).
Our decking team set to work to rebuild the subframe to comply with Trex guidelines such as correct joist spacing and support, to prevent any bounce in the deck.
As trained TrexPro installers we know the importance of having a properly constructed subframe that will last as long as the quality decking it supports. For this reason we used UC3 class timber, infused with preservative, and applied protective treatment to all the sawn and uncovered end joints accordingly.

This we topped off with the customer’s choice of decking boards from the extensive Trex range. He chose the shade “Rocky Harbour” for the main decking boards, and “Calm Water” for the perimeter deck frame and edging to the steps up to the door – both from the Trex Enhance Naturals range.
The customer then opted to finish off the deck with Trex black aluminium handrails, which we fitted.
